2nd Letter to the Lockdown Church of Westminster London

Deut. 31:6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

Is. 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Hello, and God bless our Westminster Calvary Chapel Fellowship.

Well who would have thought it? This Corona Virus Pandemic, as it is called, all started last March, and here we are now in ‘Locktober’ and we still have no idea when our church will be allowed back into the school and back into fellowship. It’s now 28weeks since we were all together. And, although we have been able to do our livestream from our living room and have been able to continue with our bible studies, for me it has highlighted the fact of just how important the actual, being together in fellowship, really is. For me it has been the weirdest of times. Every day, first thing in the morning, I check my emails to see if there’s any news from the school, but alas, there’s nothing as yet. So, I continue to wait, knowing though, that our church belongs to the Lord, and that He is fully in control of all that is going on, in our end times world.

It’s been my prayer that you have been blessed, encouraged, and challenged with the teaching of God’s Word over these past weeks. Personally, going through Genesis, and particularly, the injustices and the trials, and the ultimate triumph of Joseph’s life, has had a powerful impact to me, and I do hope it has helped you draw nearer to the Lord also. Then we have our Sermon on the Mount teaching going on. I really appreciate the teaching of our Lord as He lays out the principles of God’s Kingdom. It lifts our eyes up to higher things, and really helps us all to get our minds focused upon something other than the constant doom and gloom of the mainstream media. As I meditate upon these things, I am reminded of Phil. 3:20 where Paul reminds us, that our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. So, whenever You are ready Lord!

I’ve been thinking quite a lot about the families who have kids that are heading back to school, and for the older ones going to university and so forth. As these young ones are setting out in life, then because Gloria and I have grandkids of our own, I do wonder sometimes about the kind of world that these young lives are headed into. It makes me realize more and more, just how much these families, with their kids, all need our prayers. Lord give those parents the love and the wisdom necessary to steer these young lives in the right direction. Eph. 6:4 And to bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. And for the single mums too. They have a tough job. Lord, how much we need Your wisdom and strength, in so many ways, in these perilous times.

Anyhow, I could go on, but my intention is simply to remind you that God is still in control in these uncertain times. These are days when it is easy for us to become fearful of the future. That being so, we as a church family need to pray for one another continually. I was listening to David Attenborough a few nights ago, with all his ‘extinction’ predictions, and thought to myself, ‘You know what all of this is telling me? It is telling me that that the birth pangs are becoming more and more intense, and they are becoming more and more frequent, just as Jesus said it would be, prior to His soon return for His bride! So, my advice to everyone, if it is worth anything, is to switch off the mainstream news on the TV, get your mind into the Word of God, and lift up your eyes my brothers and sisters, for ‘His coming is near, even at the doors.’ As the Psalmist says in Psa. 123:1 Unto You, I lift up my eyes, O You who dwell in the heavens. This is God’s world and He has great and wonderful plans for it, plans that will blow all of our minds in that fabulous day. And you and I, my dear brothers and sisters, are all a part of His future plans for this, our planet earth. So, my prayer is that we will not be fearful at all, but rather that we will all be encouraged, knowing that the Lord has not vacated His throne. That He is in total control, and that His purposes are coming to bear.

3 John 14 But I hope to see you shortly, and we shall speak face to face.

Blessing to you all my dear friends. I love and miss you all.

Coronavirus Update
